Company Background

eMetric was founded in 2000 by Dr. Huixing Tang, a renowned psychometrician, and is located in San Antonio, TX. Over the past several years, eMetric has provided online reporting and assessment services for multiple states, including Connecticut, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Alaska, Nevada, and Florida. Additionally, in partnership with the nation's major test publishers, eMetric developed a series of online reporting products for their norm-referenced assessments.

Senior Database Developer

eMetric is a San Antonio based web application service provider for K-12 education. We are currently looking for a Sr. Database Developer to work on a cutting edge assessment platform. We offer a dynamic and team-oriented environment with ample opportunities for significant individual contributions to our products.

The Database Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining large scale and mission critical databases that are secure, reliable and scalable. Ideal candidate must be detail oriented and demonstrate a consistent approach to problem solving and analysis. Ability to work diligently (results orientated) to achieve goals, meet quality controls and deadlines. Successful candidate must have strong drive to continually improve reliability and performance.

Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in design, development and maintenance of large scale database projects.
  • Expert knowledge of SQL Server 2008 environments for designing and developing databases.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft .NET framework and C# is preferred.
  • Experience with other database platforms (Oracle, MySQL etc.) is optional.
  • Exposure to Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and web services is desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree in a related field is required.
  • Familiarity with K-12 data warehousing and analytics is preferred.

  • Design and Document Logical and Physical Database Models to cater variety of business requirements.
  • Benchmark and baseline the existing Systems with SQL Trace, Extended Events, PerfMon, DMVs, Clear Trace, RedGate Tools
  • Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization and Analyzing Common Performance Issue patterns which involves Application Design, I/O Patterns, Concurrency, Memory, TempDB and CPU, etc.
  • Critical thinking to design solutions to accommodate current business needs with extensibility, scalability to accommodate future needs.

Quality Assurance Analyst

eMetric is a San Antonio based web application service provider for K-12 education. We are currently looking for a QA Analyst to work on our online assessment and Business Intelligence platforms. The QA Analyst will be part of an agile team responsible for reviewing and analyzing the user stories and designing, developing, and executing automated and manual test scripts effectively to test the features being delivered within a sprint.

Responsibilities
  • Develop effective testing strategy and execute test cases based on acceptance criteria
  • Build and maintain test environments
  • Scope and build a testing framework relevant for assigned projects and tasks
  • Work independently and with a team to effectively test features and document test results in agile environment
  • Think outside the box to design test cases for complex testing problems
  • Effectively plan for all testing activities required for user stories selected for a release and for subsequent sprints
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver value and learn from feedback
  • Identify issues/risks proactively and communicate work progress to project and QA manager(s) on regular basis
  • Attend project meetings and share technical expertise as required
  • Knowledge of automation frameworks such as Selenium, Jasmine and Grinder is desired, but not required.
Experience

Business Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to provide analytical and strategic support of software development activities. Working closely with project managers, technology managers and other technical staff, this person will be responsible for eliciting and documenting business requirements and functional specifications. Responsibilities
  • Perform requirements elicitation, analysis and verification working directly with internal and external stakeholders
  • Create and maintain technical documentation to include business requirements documents, use cases and requirements traceability matrices, business cases, and functional specification documents
  • Break high level requirements into thorough, detailed, user-focused specifications with acceptance criteria and detailed requirements
  • Create workflow/process diagrams and use case diagrams
  • Create requirements traceability matrixes to link business requirements to test cases
  • Act as a valued liaison between project management, quality assurance and technical team
  • Participate in daily scrum meetings, sprint planning sessions and backlog grooming
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least (3-5) years of experience working as a Business Analyst

Support Specialist

eMetric is a San Antonio based web application service provider for K-12 education. We specialize in online assessment delivery and data reporting and analytics. We are currently looking for a Support Specialist to provide product and office support services. The Support Specialist provides first line technical support to our clients and to internal users to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain primary contact with users to provide support via email and phone
  • Support for identifying enhancements and changes which aid in usability.
  • Assist project managers to create Help Guides/FAQs/Surveys for eMetric products.
  • Assist in providing web-based training as needed.
  • Help with office management tasks as needed
  • Handle all customer contacts in a professional and courteous manner
  • Comply with all Company and departmental work instructions, procedures, and policies
  • Compose accurate, prompt and appropriate replies to all customer contacts
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and provide feedback for process improvement and knowledge database updates

Qualifications
